Enjoy an excursion into the high Rockies to Georgetown, an authentic silver mine "Boom Town" of the 1860s and 1870s. You'll experience the thrill of riding the Colorado Historical Society's Georgetown Loop Railroad. This train ride travels between the towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume and takes you over the reconstructed Devil's Gate High Bridge and through the same spectacular Colorado mountain scenery that visitors of yesteryear enjoyed.
The train will stop for a tour of the Lebanon Silver Mine. The tour of this 1870s silver mine takes you 500 feet beneath the mountain and also shows you the mine manager's office, the change room, blacksmith shop and tool shed. We'll then drive back into the historic town of Georgetown for time on your own to enjoy lunch and do some shopping.
Includes: Roundtrip deluxe motorcoach transportation, professional tour guide, beverages and snacks en route, roundtrip ticket on Georgetown Loop Railroad, guided tour of Lebanon Silver Mine, time at leisure for lunch and shopping in Georgetown.
Note: The Lebanon Silver Mine is not wheelchair-accessible.
